This project involved the setting of control using post processed fast static GPS data and traditional total station traversing methods. The existing track at both ends of the derailment was surveyed using the Trimble GEDO Vorsys system for a condition report and site investigation.
The work was carried out under a high pressure environment, mobilizing at short notice and working on a 24 hour roster to ensure that the rail line could re-open for commercial use as soon as possible.
